#ACER ASPIRE 5100 REVIEW WINDOWS#
My version of Windows Vista is not a valid one. Microsoft Office takes a few minutes to load whereas it used to load in seconds. Youtube videos (or any videos) and Windows Media Player skip constantly.

No matter how much I clean it up, the system still operates slowly. IE7 runs as if I'm on dial up - but I'm not. True This Acer Aspire 5100 has had multiple problems with it.Īcers wear down extremely easily. Keys pop off easily and itruns extremely slow. Three year warranty which covers everything from theft to dropping it. I've had it for over a year and it still runs like brand new. I would recommend this computer to anyone who is looking for a reliable computer for school or for home. I am not in school anymore and I still use it for fun. It has done me wonderful for the purpose I have bought it and more. It is not very good for playing games though. It is great for doing school work on and playing around on the internet. I can take the laptop anywhere I want to go and can connect to internet anywhere as long as there is a wi-fi connection. I bought Acer Aspire 5100 for when I started college last year. The pictures come out looking NOTHING like they did on the computer.įalse Acer Aspire 5100 is the best laptop out there!!! The coloring and screen brightness are really bad. I have also come to find that I cannot edit photographs on this computer at all. I have never had a single virus on my computer, but it has a mind of it's own anyways. The computer is slow, connections are always getting loose, drives are always shutting down on their own. Also the problem with that is once you add stuff into those, they are stored on both hard drives (?). There is the main one, with all of your programs and operating system information, etc and then there is a "user" hard drive that has pictures, videos, documents, etc. The biggest thing with the hard drive space is that it is split between two hard drives. It has an okay amount of space on it, I do not keep a ton of photographs on at one time (I also use an external hard drive and a photo hosting site), but it still fills up pretty quickly. It wasn't working right and we actually had to restore the computer from the get go. The first day that I had it, we had problems. My husband and I were sharing a computer and both of our hobbies and jobs included a lot of time on the computer so it just was not working out. I wanted something that I could do some photo editing and storage on. I bought this notebook computer a couple years ago when there were some pretty good sales. Sometimes we got to just take the bull by the horns and drag it down to our level its either keep up with the pack or get out of the way because there is no stopping the technology train from continuing on it's path.

I have some friends who have been using Windows 7 for months now and they have said that they really like it and that if you liked Vista you will love 7.
#ACER ASPIRE 5100 REVIEW HOW TO#
I am looking at possibly upgrading to the new Windows 7, just because I need to know how to tweek and run the new operating systems so I can continue to help family and friends with problems. I admit that I dream of owning a MacBook someday but the prices keep putting me off and it remains a dream but who knows, I may eventually get one. I haven't checked to see if that is for certain true but I guess it doesn't matter to much to me either way since I am very happy with the products either way. The last I heard Gateway had purchased Acer, which I was told was based out of Italy(don't know if that is/was true or not), so now if you buy anything Acer it's like your buying Gateway. Since I purchased my laptop, which came with Vista Home Premium preinstalled on official release date, I have been impressed and very happy with my purchase. I was sold when I learned that since I have had several gateway computers and had no problems with them beyond simple user error. I asked some questions of the sales people in each shop I looked at and also did some research online before I realized that Acer buildt the laptops for Gateway. When I went looking for a new laptop and priced out what I was looking for the Acer was the one that seemed to have almost everything I needed and/or wanted, but I admit I wasn't sure how good this brand name was.
